Positive Psychology and Coaching

Tuesday 17th March 2009 / Time: 6.00 pm-8pm

The Association of Business Psychology ABP launches its North East series of networking and learning events with a session exploring Positive Psychology and Coaching.  Dr Penny Cortvriend, a Chartered Occupational Psychologist from Aspire, a consultancy specialising in personal and organisational development, will present a one hour interactive session on positive psychology and its application in coaching.

Action Learning in Practice

Mary-Clare Race / Amanda Harrison:  18th March at 6.00 pm

The purpose of this session will be to provide participants with a brief introduction to the principles of action learning. Embracing the principles of action learning and experiential learning, participants will be invited to take part in an exercise to experience the potential benefits associated with this approach. A brief case study will then be presented to demonstrate the practical application of this approach.

Emotional Intelligence - Making Knowledge Count

Monday 2nd March 2009 at 6.00 pm

Dr. Chris Speechly will give a presentation about an emotional intelligence intervention with a leading pharmaceutical organisation (see synopsis below).
This will be followed by an opportunity to discuss the wider practical applications of EI within the workplace.

It is expected that the presentation will last 45 minutes followed by approximately 40 minutes of Q&A and then refreshments
