Mindfulness and Values-Based Coaching (MVBC): Ancient Traditions – Modern Science

Posted: 23/02/10

Date and time:

Speakers: Emma Donaldson-Feilder and Michael Chaskalson: 6.00 pm 9th March 2010

Venue:

University of Westminster, 309, Regent St., London W1

Description:

Most coaches understand the need for maintaining a open, attentive presence in the context of a coaching session. Not many know actively how to bring that state about – nor how to sustain and develop it. Mindfulness training, based in meditation skills, offers a way.

The values dimension of MVBC is about ‘being mindful for a reason’, allowing the individual to combine the quality of presence established through mindfulness with a commitment to action based on clarity about values and goals.

This evening is an experiential taster of the MVBC coach training. Participants will leave with an enhanced understanding of MVBC and one or two techniques that they can apply immediately in their own lives.

Emma Donaldson-Feilder is a practising occupational psychologist and coach and works with individuals and organizations to help improve engagement and well-being at work.  Michael Chaskalson is well known in the industry for training coaches and psychologists in mindfulness skills.
