Board Member – Universities and Student Engagement
Uzma is currently a freelancing Business Psychologist, specialising in talent assessment, leadership development, coaching, and workplace counselling. Her work has taken her predominantly down the talent assessment and development route, working with the likes of the Emirates Group, Royal Mail, Volkswagen, Northern Gas Networks and Nationwide.
Uzma started out briefly as Chemical Researcher with Johnson Matthey Plc, before working as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer in the public sector wing for an e-Business corporation, supporting UK based clients such as LEAs and PCTs. Following an extended break, she retrained as a business psychologist, is a BPS certified occupational test user and accredited in a range of psychometric tools. She is working towards her ILM level 7 cert in coaching & mentoring and has recently completed a NCFE CACHE Counselling Skills Diploma.
Uzma led the first business psychology student conference earlier this year and has now joined the board as Head of Universities and Student Engagement (USE). Having reinvented herself professionally following a career break, she is keen to provide an engaging network triad at the ABP for academic institutions and early career business psychologists, while supporting them with their strategic employability agendas.
