As a 16-year-old in France, at a student exchange program, who did not speak French, I realized that it takes a lot more than cultural similarities to build connections.
Despite the communication barriers, I worked with people from diverse backgrounds and gained new perspectives. This is where I recognised the importance of incorporating different voices for an environment to thrive. Drawing from the experience in France, I decided to enroll in a Business and Organisational Psychology course to develop upon my interest in diversity and inclusion in the workplace. With an opportunity to intern with the ABP, I have gotten the chance to apply my theoretical knowledge into practice. With these experiences, I intend to execute all the knowledge gained in promoting work-life balance, upskilling employees, and recruiting suitable candidates.
