Setting Targets for addressing Mental Health Issues in the Workplace

Speaker: Claire Lish, HR Director, Pepper Group

Session outline

Issues of Mental Health and its affect of organisational performance and productivity need little introduction. The current Public Health England initiative costing nine figures has made a considerable contribution to this awareness.  However, what is receiving little attention behind the fanfare and what the campaign can not highlight is the results of activity “on the ground”.  Some organisations have made tremendous strides forward but progress is patchy, mainly because of insufficient involvement from and leadership by HR.

One company which has recognised the direct link between employee wellbeing and job performance is Pepper Group, which has arguably done more than any other company in the financial services sector to recognise that Health and Wellbeing is at the core of providing support to encourage talent and enhance job performance.  More than simply recognising the issue, it has taken steps to set targets for the reduction in referrals for mental health problems through a series of coordinated measures.

As HR Director of Pepper UK, Claire Lish will present a case study of how she has implemented a controversial mental health improvement programme which has boosted productivity to levels which competitors can only dream about.   With 20 years experience across the field of people management and development, Claire is passionate about employee wellbeing and talent management.

Please note this event will now be virtual and conducted online due to the Coronavirus.
