Progressing the Diversity Agenda by using AI to Eliminate Bias
According to Accenture’s “Getting to Equal” 2019 research, when it comes to an innovation mindset among UK employees – one’s willingness and ability to innovate – it appears to be six times higher in companies with a robust culture of equality, than in less-equal companies. These are the cultures in which everyone can advance and thrive, feeling empowered while doing so. The urgent need to reduce bias and improve motivation, engagement and productivity in the workplace has never been as important.
Accenture has developed an App which not just reduces but claims to eliminate bias in recruitment. This presentation will explore the various facets of the age old problem of bias, how they arise and, while exploring the development and explaining the use of the App, she will review best practice in the area of Diversity and Gender Bias reduction.
Eimear Meredith-Jones is Managing Director of Accenture’s Talent and Organisation Division. As a strategist she works with organisations to transform, adopt and successfully apply technology with informed, committed and capable people.
After an early career in consumer marketing, working for such brands as Rank Hovis, United Biscuits and Courage, she moved into Strategy and joined Accenture’s Strategy group, working across the spectrum of business operations, management, people and process, developing an international approach.
She then set up her own Strategy and Executive coaching firm specialising in coaching senior executives on a 1-2-1 basis, alongside completing a Masters in Psychology. Later returning to Accenture, she applied her experience in orchestrating the initiative “the best in Breakthrough Thinking driving Innovation”. The team created a successful and sustainable model to shift leadership mindset and capability in the London Innovation Centre and she now uses these skills to shape the leadership behaviours which drive sustainable business performance.
