The Association for Business Psychology invites you to join Maria and colleagues as they give you the insight needed to make an informed choice when buying psychometrics – before getting the credit card out.
Following on from Maria Gardner’s recent hugely popular LinkedIn post, we are going to continue the conversation offline.
With an exciting line up of contributors, from test publishers, test users and recruiters, to psychometrics experts from a range of industry bodies, we are going to give forum to asking the bigger question of ‘What do you need to know when buying psychometrics?
The importance of psychometric tools to the HR and Business Psychology community has led to the availability of a large number of potential solutions. However, that breadth of choice can be overwhelming and making the right purchasing decision requires an informed understanding what those tools can, or can’t, deliver.
Less of a critique of individual tools, rather an honest and timely conversation about what questions purchasers of psychometric tools need to be armed with to make informed decisions. We’ll be getting back to basics and asking questions such as:
- What are psychometrics and why should I care?
- How do I pick the right assessment?
- Are more expensive tools really better than cheaper ones?
- What is reliability and validity, and does it really matter?
- What are the ‘red flags’ I should be looking out for?
Due to the importance and relevance of this conversation, this event will be fully open access and free to attend for both ABP and non-ABP members.
