Creating a strengths-based organization: how to introduce and embed a strengths-based approach to boost inclusivity, wellbeing and performance
We have been applying strengths within organizations for the last 10 to 15 years, and in 2021 published our book describing our approach and how it can be used in practice. In this session we will share with you:
- Some brief background on the approach, what makes it different, and how we have introduced it to clients
- Examples of how it can be used across the talent cycle
- A discussion of outcomes and business benefits
Chartered Occupational Psychologist
|Emily is the founder of Apply Psychology and has practiced as a psychologist for over 25 years. In 2004, she was featured in the Independent on Sunday as one of Britain’s 10 leading Occupational Psychologists. She operates as a thought leader and board level advisor, and helps organisations develop high performing and psychologically safe cultures.
Emily is recognised for her psychology expertise, as well as her ability to build relationships quickly, challenge assumptions and ask incisive questions. Her naturally scientific approach means that she tends to look for evidence-based solutions that can be applied in practice. She is also a published author and is connected to academia through research, student mentoring and lecturing.
Executive Coach Practitioner
Caroline co-creates, delivers, and coaches for Apply Psychology, alongside a long-term part time position as an Associate Director with Atkins, a Member of the SNC-Lavalin Group. She is also a Pensions Trustee Director for Atkins and a Trustee Director for the charity HorseHeard, a registered charity working with horses to promote positive emotional health and resilience outcomes for people in need.
Although an engineer by training, her strengths of connecting with others, building relationships, and implementing change meant she quickly progressed and evolved into a respected and influential senior business leader and change catalyst. She led start-up businesses and business units of 100+ people before moving into organisational development and culture transformation roles. She is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer and Coach Practitioner who has a strong and natural interest in psychology.
