Book Club – The Future of Recruitment: a Manager’s Guide to using Talent Analytics
May 26 at 3:00 pm - 4:00 pmFree
Speaker: Dr. Franziska Leutner, Lecturer. Goldsmiths, University of London, and Director, Innovation Assessment, HireVue
Recruitment is where organisations are shaped and careers are made, leaving a profound impact on organisations, individual careers, and society as a whole. The Future of Recruitment helps everybody interested in the world of work to understand the past, present, and future of recruitment.
In this book, Franziska Leutner, Reece Akhtar and Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic describe the modern technologies and ideas that are changing recruitment, many driven by artificial intelligence and changing expectations of candidates and organisations. This session will explore new developments like automated video interviews, image based reviews and game-based assessments to select top talent and describe the science that underlies them. It will also look at ethical issues and how we answer criticism that technology has a reputation for reducing fairness and narrowing accessibility to those more comfortable with its use. The Future of Recruitment reflects on longstanding issues in recruitment and its role in building today’s unequal world of work.
Dr. Franziska Leutner is a Lecturer and Consultant, Business Psychologist and Data Scientist, combining psychological theory with machine learning methodology. Key interests are in personality profiling and the ethical application of algorithms in behavioural analytics, game based assessment, consumer psychology, personal values, social media psychology, and entrepreneurship.
She works with businesses to optimise their products by providing a more human-centred approach to data science, customer profiling, and personalisation. The focus is on accelerating the creative process, by uncovering unique avenues to product development that teams may otherwise miss.
