What would your typical day look like?

As a Senior Business Psychologist, you will be responsible for managing the process of extracting value out of quantitative and qualitative data analysis by translating data outputs into salient and simple-to-understand implications and recommendations for our clients. You will work with and mentor the junior business psychologists and report to our Head of Delivery on bespoke organisational diagnostics, leadership assessment and development solutions, you will both contribute to and over time, lead advisory projects, design and deliver bespoke training, and enhance significant client accounts.

A key pillar of this role is the ability to create evidence-based meaning from analytical outputs – turning sophisticated and nuanced insights into written and verbal communication that clients will understand and value.  The ability to execute analytics projects and client advisory plans as well as identify and mitigate risk is important. 

What are the opportunities in this role?

APS Intelligence works primarily with FTSE multinationals and some interesting ‘scale-up’ organisations. This role would provide opportunities to engage with some of the world’s largest companies and brand names to identify the challenges that are impacting their performance. Our growth will allow us to expand our services to smaller organisations, which is vital to our continued success.

Job Purpose:

To learn, augment and deliver unique APS analytics and advisory methodologies and training programs. To enable the creation of client-ready outputs (written reports and verbal client briefings) containing tangible, actionable insights and recommendations leading to effective interventions based on analysis of client data and a deep understanding of the business context. To develop junior business psychologists and enable their growth from analysts to effective interpreters of data to being seen by clients as trusted advisors.
The role will report to the Head of Delivery.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Oversee the design and delivery of all analytics projects
  • Supervision of two junior business psychologists and facilitate, train and supervise their professional development
  • Meet client scope and specifications and deliver projects to required timescales
  • Responsibility for subject matter expertise (SME) in business development activities alongside the Client Success team
  • Act as a key point of contact for significant client accounts alongside the account managers
  • Review client documentation and materials provided during the diligence process and distil to key components in a timely fashion; continually refine to keep up to date with current theory and evidence
  • Define the client problems to be addressed, develop solutions in collaboration with clients, and communicate proposed solutions and their benefits.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate employee selection procedures, including the creation of new surveys, structured and semi-structured interview questions
  • Provide evidence-based advice and guidance to clients on how specific interventions can support their requirements
  • Promote the use of psychological best practice
  • Produce high-quality reports for clients
  • Support the preparation of proposals and presentation materials
  • Deliver presentations to clients
  • Lead analytics teams on projects whether remote or onsite at client venues
  • Attend client meetings

Requirements: Knowledge and Experience

We are looking for intelligent, engaged and scientifically literate individuals who are ready and willing to learn on the job. Specific experience in the following areas is essential:

  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative research (including blended ‘thick data’ approaches) design implementation, analysis and translation into easily absorbed, client-ready outputs
  • Experience conducting client interviews
  • Experience with data analysis tools (we use JASP and NVivo)
  • High-quality process design and documentation
  • Use of technology to capture operational data to create insights
  • Balancing demand with capability, capacity for the smooth supply of client service delivery
  • Microsoft Office suite

Technical/Qualification Requirements:

  • Minimum of MSc in Occupational/Organisational or Business Psychology
  • Membership with BPS or ABP
