It has been a long time in the making but here we are, finally. Our team had a vision for the training at the ABP to slowly transition into something less “London-centric”, so to become accessible to all our members around the UK and outside the country, too.
It is not an easy process, because training online, either via webinars or with permanent online modules, is outside the comfort zone for many trainers. Designing for online modules – and to a certain extent for webinars, too – requires a great talent for recognising the learning process of multiple types of learners, sometimes abdicating any right to intermediate, coach or interact simultaneously with trainees.
Technology is on our side, with learning platforms becoming more and more sophisticated. Learning specialists, including educational experts, have had an ever growing influence on designers and software developers to build these experiences around the learner’s needs and there is still a lot of room for growth. At the ABP, we will try and do our part.
We will start with the hugely popular Certificate in People Assessment, run by Ben Williams. It will launch as a Webinar Series in September 2019 and it will continue throughout the rest of the year. You can book your place here
In addition to that, for those of you who are interested in exploring the world of diversity, inclusion and discrimination, we will have Colleen Cameron from Psychologists At Work run her popular workshop on micro-aggressions, inspired by her talk “Narratives on black women in the workplace”. Book your place here
There’s more to come, so stay tuned. If you have an idea for an online module to offer to our members, please get in touch through these pages. We have prepared a form you can use to fill in your proposal and you can read through our selection criteria in the same section. You can find it here
This part of the training pages will be updated with blog entries and interviews about the L&D world. Reach out if you want to contribute through our “Meet our team” pages. Thanks for stopping by!
