Dr. Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic

Dr. Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic is the Chief Innovation Officer at ManpowerGroup, Professor of Business Psychology at University College London and Columbia University, co-founder of deepersignals.com, and an associate at Harvard’s Entrepreneurial Finance Lab. He is the author of 12 books, including Why Do So Many Incompetent Men Become Leaders? (and How to Fix It), upon which his TED talk was based. Dr. Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic is an international authority in people analytics, talent management, leadership development, and the human-AI interface. His commercial work focuses on the creation of science-based tools that improve organizations’ ability to predict performance, and people’s ability to understand themselves. He is currently the Chief Innovation Officer at ManpowerGroup, co-founder of DeeperSignals and Metaprofiling, and Professor of Business Psychology at University College London and Columbia University. He has previously held academic positions at New York University and the London School of Economics, and lectured at Harvard Business School, Stanford Business School, London Business School, Johns Hopkins, IMD, and INSEAD, as well as being the CEO at Hogan Assessment Systems.

Dr. Tomas has written 12 books and over 200 scientific papers on the psychology of talent, leadership, innovation, and AI, making him one of the most prolific social scientists of his generation. His work has received awards by the American Psychological Association, the International Society for the Study of Individual Differences, and the Society for Industrial-Organizational Psychology, to which he is a Fellow. He is also a Thinkers50 ranked thought leader. Dr. Tomas is the founding director of University College London’s Industrial-Organizational and Business Psychology program, and the Chief Psychometric Advisor to Harvard’s Entrepreneurial Finance Lab.

Over the past 20 years, he has consulted to a range of clients in financial services (e.g., JP Morgan, HSBC, Goldman Sachs), advertising (e.g., Google, WPP, BBH), media (e.g., BBC, Red Bull, Twitter, Spotify), consumer goods (e.g., Unilever, Pepsico, P&G), fashion (e.g., LVMH, Net-a-Porter, Valentino, Gucci), government (e.g., British Army, Royal Mail, NHS), and intergovernmental organizations (e.g., United Nations, International Rescue Committee and the World Bank).

Dr. Tomas’ media career comprises over 200 TV appearances, including on the BBC, CNN, TED, and Sky, and over 300 features in Harvard Business Review, the Guardian, Fast Company, Forbes, and the Huffington Post. Dr. Tomas is also a keynote speaker for the Institute of Economic Affairs. He was born and raised in the Villa Freud district of Buenos Aires, but spent most of his professional career in London and New York, and lives between sunny Miami and beautiful Rome now.

He’s recently been appointed as a Visiting Honorary Professor at Bayes Business School at City University in London with a focus on organisational culture and the MBA programme.

Previously he spent over a decade running Twitter and YouTube (the latter at Google) for Europe, leaving Twitter as its most senior leader outside of the US. Bruce runs the Apple number 1 Business Chart topping podcast Eat Sleep Work Repeat on work culture.

Geoff Trickey

Geoff is a Chartered Psychologist with a BSc and MSc from University College London (UCL). He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. His unusually varied career as a psychologist fostered an international perspective that straddles professional career paths and business sectors. In roles as Research Fellow at UCL, European Manager for The Psychological Corporation (San Antonio, USA), followed by personal and business associations with the Hogan Assessment Systems (Tulsa, USA), JVR (South Africa), MHS (Canada) and professional groups throughout Europe, he has been privileged to work with an exceptionally influential pool of talent, laying the basis for an informed global perspective on psychological practices. Geoff set up Psychological Consultancy Ltd. (PCL) in 1992 and as CEO has overseen research and innovative professional practices. He is now devoted to research-based consultancy, innovative product development and his influential work on decision making under risk.

Helen Ashley

Helen Ashley is the Director of Organisational Development at the University of Manchester. She is an experienced People and OD leader with a background in Healthcare, International Higher Education, and Science Publishing sectors. With a focus on evidence-based performance improvement and transformational leadership, her areas of excellence are designing and implementing workforce and OD strategies, client-led service improvement, and leadership of organisational change through cooperation, collaboration and colleague engagement. She is a qualified coach and remains research active in the field of organisational culture. She is a Fellow of CIPD, a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and has a master’s degree in Education. On a personal note, Helen lives in Cheshire with her husband, three children and an adorable pooch called Cookie.
