Jo Parkes
Unified Framework Lead
Jo is a Certified Principal Business Psychologist specialising in employee assessment and engagement. Having previously worked for Psychometric Services Limited, Kenexa and IBM Smarter Workforce, Jo set up as a freelance consultant and founded People by Numbers in 2019. Here, she enables clients from across the globe and industry sectors to make data-driven decisions through the application of business psychology.
She is currently based in the N/Lab Research Centre at the Nottingham University Business School where her work examines how personal and psychological drivers can frame and shape binge-watching behaviours.
Jo is certified by the BPS and the EFPA as an Ability and Personality Test user and delivers training in this area to enable clients to get the best out of the psychometric tools. She also has extensive experience mentoring others in fields including test development, interviewing and assessing.
She is passionate about diversity and inclusion, particularly as pertaining to fair selection and talent management and has presented research in this area at the DOP and ABP conferences in the U.K. as well as events in Asia and Australasia.
Having taken part in the pilot of the ABPs Business Psychologist accreditation process, Jo now acts as a mentor and assessor on the programme. In her new role as Certification Lead for the ABP, Jo’s focus is to maintain the ABP’s inclusive and accessible nature of this programme while evolving it to the next iteration so that it may more seamlessly complement our member’s CPD journeys.
