Resilience, Mental Health and Wellbeing at Work: Creating Acceptance, Awareness and Strategies for Success

This event is now fully booked, if you would like to be added to the waiting list please email Jade on admin@theabp.org.uk

Intro/blurb

Individuals are often faced with an array of challenges at work, which can have a significant impact on their mental well-being. When these challenges lead to high levels of stress and pressure, this can impair cognitive functioning and, therefore, the ability to bounce back. Our research has examined how resilience can affect how individuals identify and use their strengths at work.

Our research has identified nine aspects of Emotional Resilience that help individuals to be tough and bounce back from adversity. These nine aspects of Emotional Resilience give people the balance required to identify and use their strengths on a day to day basis. In other words when individuals are feeling resilient and are able to identify and use their strengths, they are more likely to perform at their best. If they are struggling to cope or are experiencing any negative emotions, they are less likely to be able to attend to or use their strengths effectively, or they may overuse their strengths and derail themselves when under extreme pressure.

What the course is about

This webinar is an interactive 2.5 hour session that will focus on exploring the leading research focusing on resilience and why it is important to develop our own resilience. During this session we will introduce the BeTalent Resilience tool as a way to support individuals in understanding their own Resilience Strengths and Risks, through both a card sort activity and questionnaire. In addition to this, the session will help you to develop coping mechanisms to manage stress and adversity. Finally, the session will train you in the concepts and interpretation of the Resilience report so that you can use the tool in the future.
