Business Psychology in a Changing World of Work

October 8 at 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Free – £18.00

Summary:
Peter Cheese, CEO of the CIPD, will discuss the evolving landscape of HR and business psychology, focusing on key industry trends that are reshaping these fields. He will explore four pivotal questions:

  1. Embracing AI and Automation: How can HR and business psychology professionals adapt to the rise of AI and automation in their roles? Peter will delve into how these technologies can drive a significant improvement in performance, efficiency, and decision-making within organisations.
  2. Integrating HR and Business Psychology: What synergies can be created by combining the expertise of HR and business psychology? He will discuss strategies for these professions to collaborate effectively, fostering healthier, more productive workplaces and enhancing organisational culture and employee well-being.
  3. Supporting Evidence-Based Approaches: How can business psychology support an evidence-based approach in modern HR departments? Peter will highlight the importance of quantification and the application of scientific models to HR practices, ensuring that decisions are data-driven and rooted in robust research.
  4. Current and Emerging Trends: What are the other trends impacting HR and business psychology today? Peter will identify and analyse factors such as remote work, employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, and the increasing importance of mental health and well-being in the workplace.

By addressing these questions, Peter aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the current state and future direction of HR and business psychology, highlighting the critical role these fields play in navigating the changing world of work.
