Venue:

Description:

A Scientific & CPD Meeting organised by The Welsh Branch of the British Psychological Society & The Association of Business Psychologists

‘What do we do and why do we do it?’

Steve Whiddett, Chief Business Psychologist, WHE (UK) Ltd

This event is free of charge and all are welcome to attend but please contact the Administrator to register your attendance

The purpose of this event is to highlight key challenges facing the practices and development of our profession, understand influences on the practices of Occupational Psychologists and identify how our practices influence our image, impact and ethical position.

Occupational psychologists constitute a community of differing practitioners. Some members of this community have significantly greater impact on our public image and reputation than others.

During this event, the influences on the work of psychologists will be explored along with the implications for current and future practice and development of the profession.  It will be highly interactive and, in addition to presenting research findings, will also explore the practices, and attitudes to practice, of those attending, together with how attendees perceive that these might impact on organisations and the distinctiveness of occupational psychology.

Steve Whiddett is a registered occupational psychologist, who has specialised in individual and organisational performance for more than 25 years. He has worked in a wide range of roles in major national and international organisations.  His clients have included local authorities, central government bodies, not for profit organisations and national and international blue chip companies.

In 2002, after several years as a partner in Pearn Kandola, he co-founded WHE-UK Ltd: a professional practice that uses psychological theory, research and practice to help organisations take and manage a holistic view of individual and organisational performance.
