Stop Motivating Your People! – Employee ownership as a reciprocation of leadership responsibility
November 15 at 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm
Free – £18.00Speaker: Trevor Hudson, Tuff Leadership Development
Contrary to the prevailing wisdom in management schools and leadership development across the land, it isn’t the leader’s job to motivate people. In fact, that’s just the beginning of many things that the leader takes responsibility for, often in very subtle ways, that are getting in the way of a thriving organisation. This webinar will explore the concept that responsibility, as most people experience it, is not a role or an action but a way of being arising from mindsets. This version of responsibility that runs rampant amongst leaders (and parents, teachers, therapists, coaches etc.) if left unchecked creates a subtly more passive response in others – often resulting in leaders stepping in even more. This session will join up some of the spray-and-pray ‘self-awareness’ practices of recent times with far more practical activities designed to identify how we show up in conversations in ways that ‘get in the way’. It will be hands on, practical and eye-opening.

He has spoken on many ‘future of work’ topics such as work/life integration, effective distributed working, and flaws in traditional ‘task-first’ change. He is currently researching and writing on the topic of wisdom and its role in transformational leadership.
