Professor Alex Forsythe, CPsych, PFHEA, NTF
Board Member – Head of Professional Certification
Alex is a senior academic who specialises in improving work and behavioural skills through self-regulation strategies and by helping individuals develop healthy relationships with feedback. She has spent the last seven years applying these principles in the development of medical professionalism and academic performance. Her work in this area contributed to her winning the prestigious National Teaching Fellowship during 2018, and, for her national strategic leadership in Higher Education, she was awarded Principal Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.
Alex is a British Psychological Society Test Specialist and psychometrician who is currently managing research teams developing new measures of goal regulation; professionalism using Q-Sort and Reparatory Grid Techniques; and behavioural anchored rating scales for regulating performance in response to feedback. Her passion for novel measurement has been applied outside occupational settings, in the measurement of very small representations such as icons, symbols to very large structures such as hospitals and palliative care environments.
