Applying a Strengths Based Approach to Develop Hospice Leaders

The Commission into the Future of Hospice Care identified strengthening hospice leadership as one of five key steps needed to ensure that hospices become fit for the future:
Major investment is required at local and national levels to strengthen strategic leadership within the hospice sector. Hospices need to become bigger organisations with more influence in the wider health and social care system. Rachael Lewis has been working with a Charity (The End of Life Partnership) which supports hospice leaders to develop the skills and strategic insights to respond effectively to the many opportunities and challenges involved in modern hospice leadership.
There is never a “One Size Fits All” solution to leadership training but in this sector, as in the frontline medical sector generally, sensitivity, emotional intelligence and flexibility is particularly required in abundance. Rachael has developed an Experiential Learning approach which is so highly regarded that she won an award at October’s ABP conference for her work. What is exciting about this work is that its approach can be applied to almost any leadership situation and she will share aspects of the programme with members on this webinar.
Passionate about bringing out the best in people at work, and helping them to bring out the best in their teams, Rachael’s mission is to develop leaders who an make a real difference to their organisations. She established Envision in 2000 having worked at OPP and DWP. Alongside leadership development she is a sought after coach, has held several Non-Executive Director positions at various Not-For-Profit organisations and until recently was Deputy Chair at the End of Life Partnership. She is a fully Chartered and Registered Psychologist, an Associate Fellow of the BPS and a founder member of ABP.
It is expected that the presentation will last 45 minutes followed by approximately 20 minutes of Q&A.
