ABP Bookclub ‘between the wines’
11 December 2020 at 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm
Book to read: ‘Why we work’ by Barry Schwartz https://www.amazon.co.uk/Why-Work-TED-Barry-Schwartz/dp/1471141810
We are trialling the idea of a monthly book club and invite members to join us in December for our first meeting.
Facilitated by long standing member Mary Andrews, we invite you to read Barry’s book and come ready to discuss:
– Will it change your practice? Has it influenced your thinking?
– Would you recommend it to others?
The idea is we encourage ourselves to read/develop our thinking but then the smaller opportunities to meet and discuss allow us an interactive and practical opportunity to think about how this applies to our work.
The aim is for these sessions to be relaxed and informal. We want to encourage connection and community whilst broadening our minds.
In each meeting, we’ll recommend books for future book club meetings using the broad guidelines that you can’t recommend your own book, and any recommendation you make must have an option to purchase the book via kindle or price point of below £10.
Our plan currently is to alternate our timings – one month over lunch and the next over a glass of wine (or tea!) in the evening.
