The ABP Business Coaching Psychology Certification provides a route for ABP members to achieve ‘Certified Business Coaching Psychologist’ status by evidencing their experience, expertise, competencies and skill across core business coaching psychology areas.

The Process Explained
Entry Requirements
There are no minimum requirements. However, you will need to demonstrate that you work in a role where you apply coaching psychology practice in business. You will need to have a depth or breadth of experience across the coaching areas of practice outlined in our Business Coaching Psychology framework. We also take into account your academic qualifications.
For the Business Coaching Psychologist Certification, evidence is required which shows understanding and experience across some or all of the following core areas:
- Business Coaching Psychology Areas of Practice (Executive Coaching, Leadership Coaching, Career Coaching, Performance Improvement Coaching, Team Coaching, Psychometric Feedback Coaching, Health & Wellbeing Coaching, Specialist Coaching, Business Coaching, Skills Coaching,
- The Consulting Cycle (Advise, Diagnose, Design, Implement, Evaluate)
- Professional Business Practice (e.g. commercial acumen, law, ethics, diversity)
- ABP Values (particularly Building Capability)
You are also required to submit your coaching log/hours, your supervision log and evidence of Continuing Professional Development.

If you are a Certified Principal Business Psychologist or a Fellow of the ABP, the following process and fees apply.
Process
- Complete initial application form
- Complete diagnostic
- Write critical self-evaluation paper (~3,000 words)
- Write ethical dilemma story (~1,000 words)
- Viva
- Decision and feedback
